Charity Festival "Run for the Heart" 1st 2013 has attracted more than 3,000 participants, raised 345 million copper heart surgery for 15 poor children to Day "Run for the Heart" 2nd 2014 the number of participants has increased to 6,000 people with fundraising amount is 1,275,243,316 VND supported 61 needy children on all parts of the country are free heart surgery.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, in recent years, the number of children suffering from heart disease tend to increase. In Vietnam, an estimated each year there are about 16000-20000 infants born with congenital heart problems, while 50% of children with very serious medical condition. Notably, the majority of children with congenital heart disease is detected late and lack of timely medical care due to the cost of treatment is too high compared to the income of their families.
